Getting Started
How do I sign up?
Visit buildvision.me (opens in a new tab) and click "Get Started" or "Sign Up". You can start with a free account.
Is there a free plan?
Yes! The free plan includes:
- 1 user
- 5 GB storage
- Basic features
- No credit card required
Can I try paid features?
Contact us for a demo of paid features. We'll show you everything BuildVision can do.
How do I invite my team?
Go to Settings → Team → Invite User. Enter their email addresses and they'll receive an invitation.
Takeoff & Estimation
How accurate is the AI detection?
For standard plans with clear drawings, expect 85-95% accuracy. Complex or hand-drawn plans may need more manual adjustment.
What file types work best?
PDF files from CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) work best. They preserve vector data for accurate measurements.
Why are my measurements wrong?
Usually this is a scale issue. Make sure you've calibrated the scale correctly using a known dimension. See Scale Calibration.
Can I measure hand-drawn plans?
Yes, but accuracy depends on image quality. Use high-resolution scans (300+ DPI) for best results.
What can the AI detect?

Projects & Documents
Can I import from other software?
You can import:
- CSV/Excel project lists
- PDF and image documents
- CAD files (DWG, DXF)
How do I organize my documents?
Documents can be organized by:
- Project
- Document type
- Tags
- Date
Can clients access their projects?
Yes, invite clients with "Viewer" access. They can see progress but not edit anything.
Quotes & Pricing
Can I customize quote templates?
Yes! Create templates with your standard items, terms, and layout. See Quote Templates.
How do I send quotes to clients?
Click Send on any quote. Enter the client's email and add a message. They'll receive a link to view online.
Can clients accept quotes online?
Yes, clients can view and accept quotes without creating an account. They sign electronically.
Account & Billing
How do I upgrade my plan?
Go to Settings → Billing → Upgrade Plan. Choose your new plan and enter payment details.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to Settings → Billing → Cancel Subscription. See Billing for details.
What happens when I cancel?
- Access continues until end of billing period
- Data retained for 30 days
- Can reactivate within 30 days
- Data deleted after 30 days
Can I get a refund?
Contact billing@buildvisionai.com to discuss refunds. We handle requests on a case-by-case basis.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This is permanent and irreversible.

Is there a mobile app?
Yes! Download from the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android). Core features work on mobile.
Does it work offline?
Limited offline functionality:
- View cached projects
- Take photos for upload later
- Full features require internet
How secure is my data?
- All data encrypted in transit and at rest
- SOC 2 compliant infrastructure
- Regular security audits
- Role-based access controls
Can I export all my data?
Yes, go to Settings → Company → Export Data. You'll receive a download link via email.
