Manage your construction jobs from bid to completion in one place.
What is a Project?
A Project in BuildVision represents a construction job. It brings together everything related to that job:
- Documents - Plans, specs, contracts
- Takeoffs - Measurements and quantities
- Quotes - Estimates you create
- Budget - Costs and financial tracking
- Team - People working on the job
- Timeline - Stages, tasks, and schedules
Quick Links
Project Statuses
Every project has a status that shows where it is in your pipeline:
| Status | What It Means | Color |
|---|---|---|
| Planning | Bidding, estimating, not yet awarded | Blue |
| Active | Work in progress | Green |
| On Hold | Temporarily paused | Yellow |
| Completed | Job finished | Gray |
Change status anytime from the project dashboard or the projects list.
Project Views
View your projects different ways:
List View
- See all projects in a table
- Sort by name, status, date, or budget
- Quick actions for common tasks
Kanban View
- Drag projects between status columns
- Visual pipeline management
- Great for tracking bids and active jobs
Map View
- See projects on a map by location
- Filter by status or date
- Useful for territory management
Switch views using the toggle buttons in the top right of the Projects page.
Project Permissions
Control who can access each project:

Add team members to projects in the Team tab of any project.
Common Workflows
Bidding Phase
- Create project with client info
- Upload plans for takeoff
- Run AI detection
- Create quote from takeoff
- Send to client
Active Project
- Update status to "Active"
- Add stages and tasks
- Track budget and invoices
- Manage change orders
- Update progress regularly
Closeout
- Verify all tasks complete
- Reconcile budget
- Archive documents
- Update status to "Completed"
